Guirassy's brace sees off the minnows and moves Dortmund closer to Bayern

The Guinean bagged a brace and wasted a penalty in the BVB's vital 3-2 win over Heidenheim

Even though they went through hell, Borussia Dortmund seized the chance after Bayern Munich's surprising 2-2 draw against HSV yesterday and closed the gap to six points behind the Bavarians.

When the defender Waldemar Anton put Niko Kovac's crew in front just a minute before the break, it seemed that the Croat would have an easy half-time talk and his lads an easy win over the relegation-strugglers.

Yet, Julian Niehues first levelled in the fifth minute of added time, and then completed Heidenheim's comeback only three minutes after the break, causing panic at the packed Signal Iduna Park Stadium.

Still, that's when Serhou Guirassy came to the rescue and, with a two-minute blitzkrieg (first goal from the spot), brought Dortmund a vital victory.

The Guinean could have completed a hat-trick in the 85th minute, but wasted another spot-kick, firing the ball over the bar.

Either way, the three points stay in Dortmund, and that's the most important thing for the BVB, which, a bit unexpectedly, returned to the title race and put a slight pressure on the table-toppers Bayern.
