Haaland’s father and agent are asking 20 million euros each from Barca!

In our „daily dose of Haaland“, we examine two different stories about the Norwegian striker, as well as HUGE amounts of money asked for by his agent Mino Raiola and father Alfie.

After the meetings they had with Barcelona and Real, the Spanish press managed to find out the details. And while Real Madrid apparently didn’t want to participate in a bidding war, keeping their hopes on getting Kylian Mbappe instead, Barcelona confirmed their interest in the striker. President Joan Laporta asked Haaland to publicly announce his wish to play for Barca and to stay one more year in Borussia, so that the Catalonians buy him for 88 million, and not 150.

And then it was time for Raiola and Haaland senior to spill out their wishes: 20 million euros for each man, 30 million euros annual salary for Erling, and guarantees that Leo Messi will stay. And while Laporta agreed with that last wish, he probably choked and needed some water when he heard the sums they were asking. With current Barca’s financial situation, that kind of wage is not possible. But, the talks will continue for sure.

There is however one club which could pay that kind of money – Manchester City. English tabloids The Daily Star and The Daily Express both claim that the Citizens will „bite“ for the Borussia Dortmund striker and cash out the enormous sum. The rich Arabian owners can pay that kind of money, and secure that 20-years old wonder will lead the line for the post-Aguero era. But, the Citizens manager Pep Guardiola, Raiola’s enemy number 1 was clear about Haaland (and other transfer targets):

„I'm not going to talk about any names, about other players at other clubs. It would not be polite for Borussia Dortmund and for Haaland. I have two months with these players that we have here, and they deserve as much respect from their manager. If I'm a player and the manager speaks of other players I'd say 'what the f*** are you doing? With this kind of prices, we are not going to buy any strikers, it is impossible, we can not afford it. It's impossible. No, no“ said Guardiola.

And what about Haaland’s current club, Borussia Dortmund? In their own world, nothing is happening and Erling will stay in the club for a long time.

„We are dealing with the situation in a very relaxed manner, We followed the stories, of course, but we had a very good conversation recently with Raiola and our position is clear. We are planning with Erling" said future Borussia’s sports director Sebastian Kehl to Sky Sports.
