The reigning FKF Premier League Golden Boot winner, who joined Dynamos from Kakamega Homeboyz, was handed his first start and duly delivered, coolly converting from the penalty spot to open his account for the reigning Zambia Super League champions.
Shumah’s goal came as part of a dominant team display during the club’s ongoing pre-season training camp in South Africa, where the Kitwe-based outfit is sharpening up ahead of a gruelling 2025/26 campaign.
The 2023 Mozzart Bet Cup Most Valuable Player (MVP) arrived in Zambia following a sensational 2024/25 season in Kenya, where he netted 17 goals for Homeboyz in just his second full campaign at the club and FKF Premier League after switching from Mombasa Elite in 2023.
His arrival at Power Dynamos sees him link up with fellow Harambee Stars forward Emmanuel Osoro, who also made the move earlier in the transfer window.
Osoro, who previously turned out for FC Talanta, narrowly missed out on the FKFPL Golden Boot, finishing just one goal behind Shumah with a tally of 16.
Shumah will be hoping the goal can inspire the much-needed confidence and replicate 2015 FKFPL Golden Boot winner Jesse Were's achievement, in which the former Tusker FC forward won the Zesco United Golden Boot award with 16 goals in his maiden season.
The Kenyan duo are part of a seven-player recruitment drive by the Copperbelt Energy Cooperation-backed side as the club gears up for an ambitious season both domestically and on the continent.
Dynamos clinched their eighth Super League crown last season, edging out Zesco United by five points and earning the right to represent Zambia in the prestigious CAF Champions League.
