Bajaber leaves Police FC after just 6 months for Ksh12.9m ($100k) as per reports in Tanzania after joining for Ksh1m. He will continue with the recovery with the Tanzanian giants in Egypt for pre-season,” Njiru posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
The fleet-footed winger's move to Simba was also confirmed by Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy on Wednesday, 30 July. The coach took time to explain the circumstances behind Bajaber's withdrawal from the CHAN squad.
“Everyone knows he is one of the best players in the national team. He is a player I believe in a lot, and I gave him opportunities in the national team.
He has always been loyal to me, the national team and his teammates. He got an injury before the last international break, a thigh muscle which he was nursing, and we were hoping to have him ready midway through the tournament,” said McCarthy.
"So instead of keeping a player here gambling that you are going to reach the quarter-final and semi-final to play him, we made the decision that it would be better to let him leave, especially after he had an opportunity to join a giant club in Africa, Simba.
We would rather let him go and get the necessary treatment that he needs with his new club and settle in," he added.
