Spurs' pre-season training is approaching, but the club captain doesn't care about that

Whatever it takes – he'll do it. Harry Kane is determined never to play for Tottenham Hotspur again and is even ready to go on a strike to make sure he's sold to another club before the next season!

Tottenham skipper has made it clear to the club's chairman Daniel Levy that he wants to leave, and the main decision-maker has made a gentleman's agreement with the striker that the star striker will be allowed to depart in the next month or so.

Manchester City are the favourites to land the England captain, who has just led his country to the final of the European Championship, only to lose in the final against Italy. It was his best opportunity yet to win any kind of trophy, but Kane is determined to move to a club where fighting for trophies is the norm. For too long, he was held back by the mediocre team that's been struggling since their Champions League final defeat against Liverpool in 2019.

Pep Guardiola sees Kane as a fitting replacement for the departed Sergio Aguero and has instructed his staff to negotiate a deal to bring the goalscorer to Manchester. However, there were noises that Tottenham will try to keep their best player at any cost.

To make sure the club doesn't go back on their agreement, the 28-year-old attacker has reportedly decided not to turn up when Tottenham players return to pre-season training. He'll do anything to force a transfer because he doesn't want to waste any more time in North London. The Telegraph is reporting that Kane's England teammates believe he could go on strike once his holidays are over as City prepare another attempt at bringing him to the Etihad Stadium.

This approach has already been tried and proven effective. Luka Modric and Gareth Bale were once want-away Spurs, and they managed to twist Levy's arm into selling them to Real Madrid. Also, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho have both gone on strike by refusing to train and forced their transfers from Liverpool to Barcelona. It worked for big-name players before - but will it work for Kane?

Last season he scored 33 goals in 49 games for Spurs to win the golden boot and also won the playmaker award for the most assists in the division.
