He might be The Special One, but he definitely ain't The Roman Emperor yet: Mou's Roma lose to Lazio

Clueless, slow and uninspired, the Giallorossi fall behind their city rivals, 1-0, in the Derby della Capitale

Jose Mourinho seemed taken aback looking at his woeful side as Roma suffered a bitter defeat to their city rivals, Lazio, 1-0 in the Derby della Capitale.

The big Rome derby was played in a sensational atmosphere, embellished with tons of flares and flags on both ends of the stadium. However, that emphatic battle didn't seem to inspire the players, especially Mourinho's, which resulted in a slow-paced game.

Tammy Abraham was isolated in the final third and was nowhere near the chance to score and maybe decide this thriller.

Without Wijnaldum and Dybala - their probably best players, who are sidelined for injuries - the Giallorossi lacked creation and rushed straight into Maurizio Sarri's carefully placed trap in the midfield.

Lazio dug deep and patiently to earn a massive victory that launched them to third place in the Serie A table.

They scored from their first and literally only chance of the game, accepting the gift of Roma's defence and Ibanez's unforgivable mistake near the half-an-hour mark.

Felipe Anderson netted past Rui Patricio, and it proved to be enough as the rest of the fixture remained goalless.

The nominal home side at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma went closest to scoring four minutes after going behind when Nicolo Zaniolo's deflected shot smacked out of the crossbar.

But Mou's side didn't create enough to deserve a win and drop down a place to fifth following their fourth defeat of the season.
