The Portuguese purchased 25% of the shares of the La Liga 2 club Almeria, joining the vast group of former and current players who became owners
Ronaldo Nazario (Real Valladolid), David Beckham (Inter Miami), Kylian Mbappe (Caen), Luka Modric (Swansea)... The list of current and former football superstars who ventured into club ownership is quite extensive, and as of today, it's longer by another, pretty renowned name.
Cristiano Ronaldo has officially become a co-owner of Almeria, purchasing 25% of the club's shares through his company "CR7 Sports Investments", a subsidiary of "CR7 SA".

This way, the Portuguese continued paving his way from football into the world of entrepreneurship and business.
"For a long time, my ambition has been to contribute to football beyond the pitch. UD Almería is a club with a solid foundation and clear growth potential. I look forward to working alongside the management team to support the club’s next phase of growth," CR7 said via the club's official website.
Almeria president Mohamed Al Khereiji highlighted the Rojiblancos' delight at being Cristiano's choice.
"We are very happy that Cristiano has chosen our club to invest in. He is considered the best player in history, he knows Spanish football very well, and he understands the potential of what we are building here, both in terms of the first team and the youth academy,” he stated.
Almeria are currently third in La Liga 2, just two points behind the table-toppers Racing Santander. Perhaps Ronaldo's arrival will give them an additional confidence boost and help them return to the top flight two years after being relegated.
