David Beckham wants the former Manchester United captain to join him in America

Okay, David, you've had your rest. You had time to relax on the beach, to sleep longer and to travel. It's about time to get back in goal! It's probably what David Beckham told David De Gea - although we can't guarantee!

After his departure from United five months ago, De Gea remains without a club after the club's reversal on offering him a new contract. Erik Ten Hag, aiming for a more ball-playing goalkeeper, brought in Andre Onana for $58.5 million, which has shown mixed results thus far. Meanwhile, De Gea has declined multiple offers since his Old Trafford exit, including ones from the Saudi Pro League and Inter Milan.

As per The Sun, De Gea declined a significant offer from Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League despite the potential for a substantial salary increase of around $620,000-a-week. His decision was influenced by his wife's lack of interest in relocating to the Middle East.

While De Gea favours a return to La Liga, interest from clubs like Real Betis and Valencia doesn't meet his expectations, especially regarding salary, far from the $436,000-a-week deal he had at United.

There have been whispers about a potential return to Manchester United, where he spent over a decade making 545 appearances and holding a club record of 190 clean sheets. Now, reports in England suggest that Beckham is determined to persuade the United legend to join the MLS, and there's quiet optimism about the possibility. Beckham secured Lionel Messi's signing earlier this year, marking one of the most significant transfer accomplishments.

A move to Miami would also reunite De Gea with his former Spain teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. Beckham has time on his side to sway De Gea's decision, with the MLS season not scheduled to commence until February or March 2024.
