After getting his fifth goal of the season, Kakamega Homeboyz winger David Odhiambo has set himself a target of scoring at least ten more in the remaining league rounds.

Odhiambo was on target when Homeboyz hammered Bidco United 3-1 last Sunday at Bukhungu Stadium to consolidate their stay at the summit of the log with 40 points.

The forward who all along has been coy on his personal ambitions in a season where the club is on the forefront to nail down its maiden league crown said he was looking to net at least fifteen goals this season.

The fleet footed attacker managed seven goals last season making him a hot cake in the transfer window but elected to stay put and aid the club wrestle the gong from the hands of Tusker.

I am on course to achieve my goal for the season which is to find the back of the net at least fifteen times. The good thing the team is creating chances which makes my target a realistic one. Last season, I wanted to hit double digits but fell short by three goals but this time round, I am fully focused on hitting my target,” he said.

Odhiambo, a free kick specialist further tipped the club not to relent in the bid to deliver the league gong after years of waiting.

Homeboyz enjoy a five-point gap between them and the second placed Nairobi City Stars and have already being touted as champions in waiting although coach Benard Mwalala insists it’s too early to conclude that the title will head to Kakamega at the end of the season.
