How do you breathe life into a team that feels like a cemetery?

Parisian nightmare isn't over

Paris Saint-Germain players are still reeling after the painful defeat in Madrid and elimination from the Champions League. It's been a rough few days for the Parisian superstars after seeing another attempt of reaching the elusive Champions League trophy end in misery.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke to players in the dressing room, insisting that they are still a unit, that there are many more battles to win this season and that they would stick together. However, most players responded with silence and expressionless faces. They cannot be inspired.

It is going to be hard to get that team to perform again. Last weekend's defeat at the hands of Nice was seen as irrelevant with the Madrid game of supreme importance. After falling to a heavy Karim Benzema barrage, they will have to pick up the pieces.

Witnesses speak of a funeral-like atmosphere in the wake of the Santiago Bernabeu match. The flight back to Paris was dour. There was no talking, just the sound of the aeroplane engines breaking the silence. How do you get this group of people to play as a team and win again?

Sunday, 19.00: (2.55) Alanyaspor (3.30) Fenerbahce (2.75)

Three and a half days after the nightmarish Madrid night, the Parisians have a seemingly easy task - to beat Bordeaux, probably the worst team in Ligue 1.

Pochettino tried to put into words how he feels.

"How do I feel? It pisses me off. It pisses me off because if you break it down, for the first leg and 60 minutes of the second leg, the team were superior. Maybe we deserved to lead by more goals and the way in which it was taken from us, it really pisses me off – excuse my language. It leaves a really painful mark and it's hard to move on. I'm angry, tired… It's hard to sleep at night but we have a responsibility to continue."

They will have to try to live again, play again and somehow forget the unforgettable.
