Ibra the singer, Ibra the lion killer and now Ibra the actor?

Singing in a famous italian music festival San Remo, killing a lion in South Africa, and now acting in a movie....Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not your average footballer! One of the best players in the last decade, a proven goalscorer for a number of clubs is enjoying his life at the moment, as he is listed as actor in a new Asterix and Obelix movie: The Middle Kingdom.

A hugely popular coming book turned into a big screen (and as a cartoon) is being directed by Guillaume Canet (who will act also as Asterix), and the film already gained it’s media attention because of Ibra. The former PSG, Barcelona, Mancester United, Inter and Milan player will play a caracter called „Antivirus“, a member of the praetorian guard of Julius Caesar (played by Vincent Cassel)

Ibrahimovic is not the first player to appear in this hugely popular comic book/cartoon/movie. "Asterix at the Olympic Games", released in 2008, brought Zinedine Zidane, Tony Parker and Michael Schumacher to the big screen.

The filming of this opus, delayed because of the pandemic, should begin soon, for a release scheduled for 2022. Asterix is one of the most beloved characters in French popular culture. He resides in a remote Gaulish village in the middle of the Roman Empire, as does his best friend, Obelix. He is a cunning Gallic warrior who, with the help of a magical strength potion, defends his village and goes on comic globe-trotting adventures. In addition to more than 30 comic book albums, which have been translated into dozens of languages, Asterix has spawned a number of live-action and animated films, a vast array of merchandise, and even an amusement park, Parc Asterix, north of Paris.
