La Roja striker Borja Iglesias witnessed firsthand that security in his national team camp shows no leniency
Hilarious scenes have emerged from Tennessee, where the Spain national team is based.
Borja Iglesias, a Celta and La Roja striker, just wanted to have a nice and peaceful day off, so he went out of the camp with his girlfriend and friends.
However, when he returned, he was met with an unpleasant surprise, as the security at the gate refused to let him in!
"I'm the national team player. I need to enter," Iglesias tried to explain, but in vain - the security guard wanted to see his pass.
"Are you a player?" she asked.
Borja Iglesias was denied entry to Spain's training ground because they didn't recognize him. 😂pic.twitter.com/N1KIGRJg46

Those around Iglesias confirmed his identity, but to no avail, while a man sitting nearby laughed: "She doesn't recognize him."
Despite repeating his name several times, the 33-year-old was ultimately forced to call a member of the Spanish staff to finally gain access to the camp.
In the end, while security might be strict with La Roja's players, at least they can be sure that no unauthorized person will slip through and get inside.
