"If you lose four times in a row, you need to be concerned," admits Slot

This is a sign of a severe crisis at Anfield, and a loss to Manchester United was the ultimate proof of it
Liverpool are just a shadow of their former self, as the defending Premier League champions have collected four losses in a row, for the first time since Brendan Rodgers' era and the season 2014/2015.
Vulnerable and weak, they are as far from being that once ruthless machine as possible.
Things started deteriorating since the first day of the season, though, with a Community Shield defeat by Crystal Palace at Wembley. Still, Liverpool managed to stay afloat with a handful of unbelievable late wins, netting mostly in the last ten minutes. At that point, it seemed like the Reds are not just lucky, but have some extra ingredient to keep them in contention before all the parts perfectly merge, thus creating an unstoppable force.
Alas, the story unfolded in the opposite direction...

The flaws became more visible, and late goals kept coming - only now, it were Liverpool conceding them to lose a game, like recently against Chelsea and yesterday against Manchester United.
The rotten cherry on top of all that is the pressure mounting around Arne Slot, whose super-expensive signings Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz (a combined cost of £241m speaks for itself) still haven't shown a glimpse of quality, let alone that extra skill they're expected to deliver.
The Reds' boss is aware of all that...
"If you lose four times in a row, you need to be concerned," Slot told the BBC's Match of the Day. "We know how it works in football.
"If we keep bringing in these performances, we will have a fair chance of winning more football games. Losing four times in a row definitely does something with the team."
If they lose for the fifth time in a row to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday, it would be the first time Liverpool have suffered this fate since September 1953.
