Is it really a surprise? Barca dish up another embarrassment as they just scrape a point against Granada

The visitors had no wins in their four La Liga so far, but a late Ronald Araujo equalizer denied them three points at Camp Nou
The higher they fly, the lower they fall. Barcelona were one of the best teams in the world just a few short years ago. And today? Today they have been undone by a team that could only manage two points from their four opening games of the season. Barca and Ronald Koeman are in freefall.

Barca were made to wait until the very end to salvage a point against Granada. They scored a dramatic goal after boss Koeman sent everyone in attack – defenders included. It was surreal to watch Araujo and Gerard Pique circling the opponents' penalty box as if they were strikers, but in the weird world of 2021 Barcelona – it worked. A 1-1 draw was still a poor result, certainly worse than what the team needed, but it may have saved Koeman's job.
Rodrigo Duarte shocked the Blaugrana with less than two minutes gone. And it was a shock from the former European greats didn't recover for most of the following next 90 minutes.
The home crowd had already lost their patience that had been waning for months. The team is poor, the stars are gone, the injuries are crippling the team and there is a toxic atmosphere surrounding everything and everyone connected to the club.

It was sad to watch the Philippe Coutinho and Memphis Depay struggle to beat Granada defenders. Granada managed to kept the home team at bay with relative ease for 90 minutes. It's not to say that Barca didn't create any chances – but they needed their centre-back Araujo to head a late goal in to spare his team from what would have been an embarrassing defeat.
They may have turned a defeat into a draw, but the impression is still there – Barcelona are awful.
