Milan beat Atalanta 2-0 in a forgettable match - but the opening goal should be remembered
Some goals are sublime, some are fortunate - and this one is both.
As Milan took on Atalanta in their Serie A duel on Sunday night, the Rossoneri struggled to create clear-cut chances early on. When something like that is the problem, you need something special to break the deadlock. And thankfully for Milan - their captain Theo Hernandez is always up for something special.
The French international caught the sweetest of volleys with his left foot and directed it towards the goal ferociously from around 20 meters out. It only hit the post, but the football gods decided it should be a goal. The ball bounced off the back of the goalkeeper Juan Musso's neck and crossed the goal line.
Such an incredible shot really deserves a goal at the end of it, don't you think?
Stand up and applaud the best assist for an own goal!
In what's been a frustrating game with little to offer apart from Theo's volley, Junior Messias sealed the win for the Rossoneri five minutes from time to put Atalanta out of misery.
