Isuza eyes Harambee Stars comeback

Bandari midfielder Whyvonne Isuza believes that the door to the national team, Harambee Stars will open again should he keep the fire burning at the coastal club. 

The indefatigable midfielder launched his stay with the dockers in an impressive way, netting a brace in their 3-0 win over Mathare United in day one of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign at Mbaraki Stadium on Saturday. 

He joined the club few weeks ago after running out his contract at Wazito and was on target against his former club with Ugandan forward Umaru Kasumba getting the third goal. 

Isuza who was part of the Stars team that won the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge revealed that he had a dream of making his way back to the team by maintaining the good performance at the club.

"It was great to make my debut with a brace. Unfortunately it came against the club that handed me top flight debut but at least I didn't celebrate. I just want to keep on scoring and help the club attains its goals which include winning the title. I also want to get back to the national team and win individual accolades," he said. 

Isuza who reunited with his former coaches in Andre Casa Mbungo and Anthony Kimani at Bandari said the former knew how to grind the best out of him and predicted the team to flourish under him.

"He understands me inside out and I also know his philosophy well. I am certain that the team will do well under him," he remarked. 

With players often complaining of the difficult conditions down at the coast, the former AFC Leopards man in the meantime said he had acclimatized and will use the international break to fully adapt.

"I trained with them for two weeks which were enough for me to get used to the weather. I really can't complain as there is little I can do to change it. I aim to work harder during the break to sharpen for the next game," he added.
