The Stuttgart striker has scored eight goals in the Bundesliga this season and he will try to continue the unreal streak this Friday 9.30 PM EAT against Darmstadt

When we look at the scorers' lists in the top five leagues, there are generally not many surprises. Erling Haaland is the best in the Premier League with seven goals, and Kylian Mbappe scored the same amount in France. Lautaro Martinez is the best in Serie A with five goals, Jude Bellingham scored the same amount in La Liga. However, the Bundesliga currently has the best scorer who is more efficient than all of them, and it is neither Harry Kane nor Victor Boniface, but Stuttgart center forward Serhou Guirassy!

The player from Guinea is fantastic this season; in the first four rounds he has already scored eight goals. They will try to continue the unreal series this Friday from 9.30 PM EAT, when they host Darmstadt in the opening round of the 5th round of the German championship.

The 27-year-old born in Arles, France is playing inexplicably well. It all started with the German Cup, in the victory over lower league Balingen (4-0) he was both a scorer and an assistant. He then scored two goals against Bochum (5-0) in the league premiere, and then scored the only goal for the Swabians in the defeat against RB Leipzig (1-5). In the next round, Stuttgart, again as the host, shocked Freiburg with 5-0, with two goals from Guirassy, and then last weekend the African surpassed himself and scored a hat trick against Mainz (3-1). So, five games – nine goals this season!

If he continues like this, it won't take much longer for him to break his personal best. Moreover, it is not so unrealistic that he will celebrate his most efficient season of his career by the end of September. Darmstadt is the ideal opponent for further improving the statistics, they have just returned to the elite and after the first four matches they have conceded 13 goals. They have the worst defense in the league right now and have only won one point so far.

In the next round, on September 30, Stuttgart travels to Cologne. It is also one of the weaker teams in the German championship. Guirassy is five goals short of equaling last year's season-high 14 goals in 28 games.

"I think Serhou is in the form of a lifetime. He is incredibly strong. We hope it stays that way. Serhou knows why he is here, he is 100 percent submitted to our goal," said Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoennes.

The Guinean started his career in second division Laval, and he had his first encounter with German football in Cologne. He did not live up to expectations, with only 11 goals in three seasons, he returned to France in 2019, to the second division Amiens. From there he reached Rennais, and last summer he was brought by the Swabians for 9,000,000 euros.

"We assigned him an important role when we were building the team. We knew he had to rely on his teammates," said Stuttgart sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth after the match against Mainz.

Three of the last four meetings between Stuttgart and Darmstadt have ended in a draw. The last competitive one, in June 2020 in the Bundesliga 2, ended with a 3-1 triumph of Darmstadt.
