For the second time in six days, Brighton smashed the sorry Blues, with Mitoma and the brace-scorer Minteh being the utmost heroes of the triumph - 3-0
Amex Stadium is cursed for Chelsea! Last Saturday, they were eliminated from the FA Cup, and tonight, they suffered another defeat as Brighton completed a double over the Blues in only six days - 3-0!
Already at the break, it was evident that Enzo Maresca's team would return to London empty-handed, given that the Seagulls were 2-0 up behind Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh's goals. In the 63rd minute, the Gambian completed a brace and thus "put the final nail in Chelsea's coffin," while the Blues finished the game without a shot on target?!

After the opening 45 minutes, it was clear that both Chelsea fans and Enzo Maresca would want to forget it as soon as possible. First and foremost, the Blues were 2-0 down at the break, as Kaoru Mitoma (to the custodian Bart Verbruggen's assist?!) and the Gambian gem Yankuba Minteh knocked Chelsea down in the 27th and 38th minute.
This angle of Mitoma’s goal is nuts the touch the finish WOW!

In addition, the "Stamford Bridge Hospital" got another patient, as Noni Madueke was forced to leave the pitch after 21 minutes and give his place to Jadon Sancho. Chelsea did threaten a couple of times over Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto and even scored through Enzo Fernandez, but his goal was immediately disallowed by the ref Chris Kavanagh due to the Argentinian's foul.

Following a peaceful opening to the second half, Brighton "broke the boredom" by scoring their third goal, as Minteh completed a brace and put a signature on Chelsea's catastrophe, while the experienced Danny Welbeck noted his second assist of the night.

Maresca tried to wake his men up with several substitutions but neither the captain Reece James and the young Tyrique George nor Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could do anything to change the situation on the field. On the other hand, the Seagulls relied on counters and one of them could have brought them the more convincing lead, but Filip Jorgensen managed to stop Mitoma one-on-one.
After this humiliating defeat, the Stamford Bridge crew could lose their spot in the TOP 6 tomorrow, while Brighton made a significant step towards the places which guarantee European competitions next season.
