Media report that Kai Havertz will replace Karim Benzema in Real Madrid's attacking line

OK, that was a quick one. Just hours after the announcement of Karim Benzema's shocking departure from Real Madrid, the Spanish club is already close to sealing the deal with his replacement.

As per the well-informed German daily BILD, the guy with a mission to succeed the club icon is none other than Chelsea's forward Kai Havertz.

Apparently, Havertz is just the man both Real boss Carlo Ancelotti and the president Florentino Perez have been looking for.

And the information says that it can all happen very quickly.

The ex-Leverkusener was the top scorer at Chelsea this season with seven goals. But would Chelsea even sell Havertz?

The Londoners have to part ways with several players after a dreadful season that saw them failing to qualify for the Champions League. And Havertz is one of the players with whom you can make money.

He moved to the Stamford Bridge in 2020, with Chelsea paying Leverkusen 80 million euros. Even then, Real Madrid were interested in signing him, but his choice was the EPL. It may be different this time...
