Bayern continued their spotless winning record since the start of the season
It‘s end of October and Bayern is still undefeated in all competition. The Bavarians played 12 games in all competition so far and won in all of them, including the away game in Cologne: Koln - Bayern 1:4. Vinsent Kompany‘s team is in fantastic form and look like an unstoppable armed train which hits everything in sight. Even when the home team opened the scoring, the guests never panicked and withing two minutes turned the game around, after which there was no looking back. The fact that this was a Cup game didn‘t faze Kompany at all, as he fielded almost the strongest 11 on the field, determined not to be eliminated in the early stages like a couple years before. After all, Bayern have lifted the DFB Cup trophy more than any other side (20), but haven‘t done so since 2020. Manuel Neuer was suspended so youngster Jonas Urbig made his second start and even though he looked like the weakest link among other starts, he actually made two excellent saves while the score was still 0-0 and gave his valuable contribution in a convincing win.

Diaz missed the first opportunity of the game in the 8th minute after a great cross from Olise, but he missed his header. Then it was time for one of Urbig‘s great saves. Johannesson was on the edge of the area and took a shot towards the goal, only to see Urbig's wonderful stop. Five minutes later, again Urbig, this time after Ache's header. Kaminski had a clear shot at the goal in the 26th minute but the ball ended straight at Bayern‘s keeper. But Ache finally found the net after another header in the 31st minute. The Bavarians were unfazed and scored two goals in the space of two minutes, first Diaz and then Kane.

Just like in the first half, Diaz had the first chance in the second. Only Cologne keeper Zieler was in front of him inside his own half, but he couldn‘t hit the target and fired over. In the 64th minute, it was offically over as Kane scored a brace from Kimmich‘s corner. Olise made it 4-1 after a quick counter attack which looked like a training excersise.
