Oluoch currently has 12 goals, same as KCB's Otanga

Kariobangi Sharks have been dealt a blow in their run towards staging a strong finish in the current Football Kenya Federation Premier League following the injury of their talisman Felix Oluoch.

It will not only be a blow to the club but also to his quest for the golden boot as he is currently tied on 12 goals with Derrick Otanga who could use the absence of the forward to take the lead.

The club on Wednesday confirmed that the forward will be out for at least 21 days after suffering a lateral ankle ligament sprain during their barren draw with Gor Mahia at Thika Stadium last weekend.

As a result, Oluoch is set to miss three matches outright - a home clash with Vihiga Bullets, an away tie to AFC Leopards, and another home match against Bandari.

He will be facing a late fitness test for the home match against Talanta at the end of the month, and could possibly miss that one too as it comes just days after his expected return period.

The former APS Bomet striker has not had a smooth season though as he has been out of action before due to injury, something that he earlier said was slowing him doing in his quest to bag more goals.

In his absence, Erick Mmata is expected to shoulder the burden of hunting for goals with the help of his teammates as Sharks seek to break into the top five, top three even.
