Lanky forward only broke his duck since joining Bandari but fancies a goal glut that will move him closer to top contenders.

Bandari forward Umaru Kasumba has revealed his target of finishing within the top of five bracket in the 'Golden Boot' race.

Kasumba who joined the coastal club in February as a free agent got off the mark on Saturday during their one all draw away to Western Stima, a goal which helped his side redeem themselves from a 3-0 loss to KCB.

Even though the former Sofapaka man acknowledges that the he is not a favorite to clinch the boot by virtue of joining the race late, he says finishing within the best five is feasible.

The Ugandan forward who finished joint top in 2019 alongside Allan Wanga and Enosh Ochieng said he is counting on the supply from Ndemi Keegan and William Wadri to accomplish his target.

Wadri who has seven goals against his name had been shouldering the scoring responsibilities at the club before Kasumba arrived.

" I am aiming to be among the top scorers this season. The gap between me and the top two is huge but still I can't rule myself out. I want to build on my performance against Stima and help the team achieve the targets set before the season began,"

Kasumba in the meantime dedicated his first Bandari goal to his mother Aisha Nagwa for supporting her when he was a free agent and throughout his career.

The former SC Villa man had been without a club from January last year after mysteriously parting ways with Zambia's Zesco United six months after joining them from Sofapaka.

"I dedicate the goal to my Mum who has been there for me through thick and thin. She has been supporting me and encouraging me to keep on working hard and the goal goes as an appreciation for her contribution in my career," he added.
