The Bankers have been impressive in the tournament as they are yet to concede a goal so far

KCB FC goalkeeper Elvis Ochoro has revealed how he intends to spend the Ksh100,000 Mozzart Bet Cup humanitarian cheque.

The shot-stopper won the award following his heroics in the quarter-final match against Nairobi United last Sunday at Ulinzi Sports Complex.

The award is given to outstanding players from the quarterfinal stage of the tournament.

Speaking after the match, Ochoro said the amount will be shared among selected groups in his local hood.

It was a good game of football and I am grateful that I played a part in helping my team to qualify for the next stage.

There are young teams in my hood of Hamza, Makadara, which I will select to benefit from the money as well as find a children's home in the area,” said Ochoro..

Besides Ochoro's super performance, in the game against Nairobi United, KCB had Richard Omondi to thank as his goal settled the contest.

The custodian, who has faced stiff competition for game time from Congolese goalkeeper Arnold Matumele, also opened up on the quest for more minutes.

I remained positive and focused in training while waiting patiently for my turn, and I am glad I made a positive impact,” he added.

Meanwhile, the former Nairobi City Stars goalkeeper spoke on the lessons the team picked from their failed bid in 2024.

The Bankers lost the final 8-7 on post-match penalties to Kenya Police after a barren draw in regular time.

Every day when we talk about the Cup, we always remember the heartbreak of 2024 and that is a driving force which hopefully will help us to lift the title,” he added.

The Bankers will play Tusker FC in the semi-final later in the month.
