Kariobangi Sharks central midfielder Issa Lumumba says watching his friend Ken Kyalo move to the United States of America will inspire him to double his efforts as he seeks to turn professional in future.
Kyalo who had been attached to Sharks for the last one and half years is set to fly to the US to play football and pursue Bachelors of Arts in Business Management at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky.
Besides playing for Sharks, the two midfielders had featured for five-time national champions St. Anthony's Boys High School, Kitale as students before joining the 2018 Cup winners.
Lumumba who was formally joined Sharks in April this year after sitting for his final exams said the latest development touching on his friend is rich source of motivation for him and the rest of young players in the league.
"I am happy for my friend Kyalo as the move will expose him to levels which some of us want to play in future. He will also get the opportunity to further his studies. He was my captain in school and his move will definitely inspire me to work hard as it is also my dream to play abroad," he said.
Lumumba who first joined Sharks last year before being excused to return to school for his final exams in the meantime expressed confidence that he will make to the best midfielder of the season podium.
The youngster said he was hoping to be the player with most assists in the season that he is confident that the youthful players assembled by coach William Muluya will outdo themselves.
"Personally I did not start the campaign well due to an injury I picked in the preseason but I believe I will be the most creative in the league. I believe in my talent and the support from the bench goes without saying will push me to achieve it," he added.
