Bandari are still in search for a maiden league title and Kenga believes they have what it takes this season

Bandari FC winger Shaban Kenga has tipped his club to go all the way and claim the league this season.

The Dockers have had a good season so far and are fourth on the log with 23 points, five away from league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz, with the Mombasa-based club having played a game less.

Kenga believes that the race to the title is a close one to call at the moment given the spacing between the top teams in terms of points, but at the same time believes that Bandari have the upper hand to go all the way this season.

He has also issued a rallying call to his teammates to not let the foot off the pedal but instead put in more work to ensure that they emerge victorious at the end of the campaign.

"At the moment you cannot say which team will take the league. If you look at the top five, the difference in points is very small. I think Bandari have the upper hand to win the league this season. Therefore I urge my teammates to put in the much-needed effort and believe in God," Kenga told the club's media.

The industrious player has been on the sidelines for more than a year since suffering a broken limb in January last year in their 2-0 win against Western Stima, now Kisumu United at Mbaraki Grounds.

He was set to undergo surgery on Tuesday to extract surgical screws used in the initial surgery a year ago and is keen on making a comeback to playing competitively, having resumed training earlier.

Bandari have lost only one match this season, same as Kakamega Homeboyz, but a series of four consecutive draws have seen them drop down the standings to fourth.

They are however on a nine-game unbeaten streak that comprises five draws and four wins.
