After topping Group B with 12 points from five matches, Kenya entered the knockout rounds full of confidence and momentum.

The team had been drawn alongside Senegal, Nigeria, Tanzania, Mauritius, and Chad, producing consistent attacking performances to finish top, edging Senegal by a single point.

Their group stage campaign was commanding from the start. Kenya opened with a 3-0 win over Chad before dispatching Tanzania by the same scoreline.

A 3-1 victory over Mauritius further strengthened their grip on the group, followed by another convincing 3-0 result against Nigeria.

Their only setback came in a 4-0 loss to Senegal, but even then, Kenya still finished with 12 goals scored and five conceded to seal top spot.

Carrying that form into the knockout rounds, Kenya defeated Guinea in the Round of 16 with 3-0 and 1-0 victories.

They then delivered another composed performance in the quarter-finals, beating Egypt 3-1 in both legs to reach the semi-finals.

However, their run was halted by Morocco in a tightly contested tie. Kenya lost 2-0 in the first leg before battling to a 1-1 draw in the return match, a result that confirmed their exit but also underlined their resilience against one of the continent’s top sides.

The squad, competing under the banner “Team Whipsmen” after emerging from the Nairobi eFootball Cup in March 2026, displayed tactical discipline and mental strength throughout the April-to-July FIFAe circuit.

Their participation, facilitated through collaboration between the Football Kenya Federation and the Esports Kenya Federation, marked a key milestone for Kenyan esports.

It’s a proud semi-final finish in the FIFAe Nations League ft eFootball console on Match Day 1. Eliminated by African champions in a close tie. We go again on 12th May 2026 for Match Day 2,” the Esports Kenya Federation noted after the match.
