Uncertainty continues to cloud the CAF Champions League second-round first-leg match between Kenya Police FC and Al Hilal of Sudan, despite the fixture being moved from Nyayo National Stadium to Kasarani.
The game is scheduled for Friday, 17 October at 3 PM, but doubts persist over whether it will actually take place.

Nyayo Stadium was ruled out as it will host the state funeral of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday. Mr. Odinga, who served as Gor Mahia’s patron, passed away on Wednesday morning in India, and his body was flown to Nairobi on Thursday ahead of his burial in Bondo on Sunday.
When it became apparent that Nyayo would be unavailable, FKF wrote to CAF seeking to have the match postponed to a later date. However, the request was reportedly declined, forcing the federation to shift the match to Kasarani instead.
Even so, holding the game at Kasarani now appears uncertain. The Thursday afternoon public viewing of Mr. Odinga’s body, initially planned for Parliament Buildings, was moved to Kasarani Stadium. Fans were seen on the playing surface early in the day, raising concerns about possible damage to the pitch and its readiness for Friday’s match.
Adding to the complications, CAF regulations require the visiting team to train at the match venue at least 24 hours before kickoff — a requirement that may not be met under the current circumstances.
Kenya Police qualified for the second round after eliminating Mogadishu City Club on away goals, following a 3-3 aggregate draw over two legs.
The aggregate winner of the two legs will qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage and Police will be hoping to become the first Kenyan club to achieve that feat.
Meanwhile, Nairobi United are set to host Tunisia’s ES Tunis at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, with the return leg scheduled for Tunis a week later.
