Ex Kisumu All Starlets has received offers from other clubs after lifting the league title in Tanzania.
Harambee Starlets forward, Bertha Omita has admitted that she could leave Simba Queens, despite having a year remaining in her contract with the Tanzanian Women Premier League side.
Last week, Omita won the league title with the Tanzanian giants but she may not stay longer in Dar-es-Salaam as she has offers from other teams.
“I am not sure whether I will remain here. I have a year left in my contract but I am yet to decide whether to continue or not. I have several offers both in Tanzania and back home I will make a decision at the appropriate time,” she told Mozzart Sport.
Omita joined Simba in August 2020 from Kisumu All-Starlets and she admits that life in Tanzania has been far from smooth.
“There have been ups and downs because this is the first time I am playing outside the country, away from my family. But with time I adjusted to the new environment and culture,” she continued.
On the level of competitiveness in the league in Tanzania, Omita believes the Tanzanian league is less competitive compared to the Kenyan Women Premier League.
“There are a lot of tough teams in the WPL back in Kenya. In Tanzania it’s less competitive because few teams are tough, not many are competitive,” she continued.
After clinching the title in Tanzania, Omita hopes to earn a recall to the national team, Harambee Starlets.
“The goal is to get back to the national team because it’s every player’s ultimate dream to play for her or his country. I will work hard and hopefully, I get another chance to represent my country,” she added.
Omita started her football career with Mumias based Wadadia FC in 2015. In 2016 she ditched the club for Oserian Ladies. Due to school commitments, she returned to Kisumu in 2018 joining Kisumu All-Starlets.
