After a goalless first half, Yanga erupted in the second stanza with a clinical display of attacking prowess.
Goals from Uganda international Allan Okello, Mudathir Yahya, and Pacome Zouzoua sealed a comprehensive 3-0 victory for the league leaders.
The win not only extended Yanga’s dominance at the top of the standings but also widened the gap at the summit to seven points, taking their tally to 41.
The triumph further strengthened the Dar es Salaam-based side’s pursuit of back-to-back league titles and a historic 32nd championship, cementing their status as the most successful club in Tanzanian football.
For Tanzania Prisons, however, the result compounded their struggles.
The law enforcers’ outfit, home to Kenyans Ojwang and Mutinda, remained second from bottom in the 16-team league, raising serious concerns over their top-flight survival next season.
Elsewhere, Kenyan involvement in Tanzanian football continued to draw attention.
On Friday, 3 April, Singida Black Stars, guided by Kenyan head coach David Ouma, goalkeeper coach Lawrence Webo, and striker Elvis Rupia, suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Azam FC at Airtel Stadium.
The loss left Singida sixth on the league table with 25 points.
Meanwhile, in Kigoma, Pamba Jiji, under the stewardship of Kenyan coach Francis Baraza, fielded a strong Kenyan contingent featuring Brian Eshianda, Mathew Tegesi, and Shaphan Oyugi.
The match ended in a goalless stalemate, a result that kept Baraza’s side fifth on 26 points, with 13 matches remaining in the season.
