Liverpool coach blames the referee for not dissalowing Madison's equaliser

Jurgen Klopp was more than mad after a shocking 3-1 defeat to Leicester City at Kings Park stadium today. In his post-match interview, the German tactician blamed the referee and VAR for not disallowing James Madison's equaliser in 76th minute. Madison's free-kick cross went all the way to Alisson's net, without being touched by anyone in the box. However, the ref wanted to see if some of the Foxes that stood in front of Alisson were maybe offside. After a five-minute review, the ref allowed the goal that started a thrilling comeback in just seven minutes. In Klopp's opinion, it was the tipping point of the fixture.

"We conceded a goal which is a really tough one to take. It was the turning point in the game. At the moment where they stop the situation, he didn't even touch the ball yet. That is really hard because, for me, it looks like a clear offside. He has to touch the ball, that is when the offside is 'yes' or 'no'. I think it was not even a foul [on Barnes] but we did not react well on that. It was a turning point and the second goal is a misunderstanding. I think we need to get used to each other and we were until the goal happens. It was a really good football game. We were the dominant side and we avoided their counter attacks. Scored a really nice goal and that is normal. We were much too open in that seven-minute spell and I have told the boys that is not OK. We tried everything. Alisson was confident and made super saves" recollected Klopp.

Liverpool's Andy Robertson think this defeat was a huge blow for the Reds.

"We are struggling and that is not us out there. One setback and we struggled. We have been so good at bouncing back. But we played right into Leicester’s hands with Barnes and Vardy. When that happens, you get punished. For 75 minutes we were really good but that does not win football matches. We started really well but I don’t know what happened in the last 15. That can’t happen but it did happen. We really to put an end to it, "concluded Robertson.
