Paris Saint Germain continue with their successful transfer policy
Long gone are the days when PSG was forcing the Champions League trophy with a bunch of well-proved, expensive stars whose names guaranteed the competitiveness but not actual trophies. And now, after years of overspending, after years of clashing big egos in the dressing room and years after appointing not-so-elite managers (Tuchel, Pochettino, Galtier), the Parisians finally found the right formula: an elite coach who is given all the freedom he wants (unlike for example Galtier) and most talented young players and here you go, two Champions League trophies arrived in two consecutive seasons. And PSG is continuing with the same winning formula, as they are on the verge of offloading “dead wood“ while adding talented Frenchman.
Kang-in Lee never made it in PSG and he is on his way back to Spain. A fee of around 35 million euros has been agreed and the Korean international is heading toward Madrid, to sign with Atletico. Since he played for Valencia youth team before making his name in Mallorca, Lee won‘t have a problem adapting to Spanish football. Atletico counts on his marketing potential (as PSG did also), as he is popular in South Korea and the Spanish club will now sell more shirts in Lee‘s home county.
While one player is leaving, the other is coming. PSG put an official bid for Maghnes Akliouche (24) but Monaco turned it down quickly. The French international, currently at the World Cup is one of the country‘s brightest prospects and PSG wants the player who already agreed all personal terms. The problem is the price as the Parisians offered only 35 million euros (money from the Lee deal), but Monaco wants close to 70 million. In the coming days, we are expecting a deal which will suit both parties.
