KPL CEO's son Jaden Oguda feted in the US

Oguda scored twice to see his team stage a comeback

Jaden Oguda, son of Kenya Premier League Ltd (KPL) CEO and Mathare United legend Jack Oguda received recognition after being voted Herald’s Prep Athlete of the Week for April 4-10.

Oguda is currently in his sophomore year in Washington, USA, and plays as a forward for his high school football team, soccer for the Americans.

The young Oguda scored twice as his team Jackson High School came from behind to beat Mariner 3-2, netting the equalizer as well as the match-winner on April 8.

His contribution in the game saw him nominated for the award by the news outlet Herald where he consequently claimed 32..5% of the total votes cast, 746 of 2,297 votes.

He beat six other challengers drawn from different disciplines for the award, with the closest one managing 434 votes.

Mozzart Sport highlighted another Kenyan player Leon Osoro who kickstarted life in Spain with Alicante City FC Football Academy on high, managing to score thrice in the first three matches that he played for the academy's U19 side.


Osoro moved to Spain earlier this year after being spotted during a tournament held in Nakuru's Bahati area and graced by former Tusker FC midfielder David Kenga of Elite Soccer Training in South Carolina and coach Bob Oyugi of Education in Sports Academy in Nairobi.
