Kroos on Madrid's abysmal season: "Unacceptable!"

"The results on the pitch are due to the poor relationships within the club," the German said in his podcast
One of Real Madrid's worst seasons this century is coming to an end, and it hurts everyone associated with the club. Especially those who remember times when Los Blancos were the most ruthless team in the world. Even more so those who played an essential role in those successes - like Toni Kroos, for instance.
In the podcast he hosts with his brother Einfach mal Luppen, the German touched on his former club's disastrous campaign and stated what probably every other Madrid fan has been thinking.
"Two seasons without winning is unacceptable at Madrid, period. The results on the pitch are due to the poor relationships within the club," Kroos stated, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

"It's very hard to swallow... Two seasons without winning anything is unacceptable at Real Madrid, period.

At first, it seems that the situation could hardly get any worse. However, knowing that Barcelona won the La Liga title by brushing aside Madrid in the latest El Clasico adds even more salt to Los Blancos' wounds.
Aware of the turmoil at Santiago Bernabeu, Kroos didn't have particularly high expectations.
"They were probably motivated to win the Clasico, but it wasn't enough. The defeat was already accepted before it even started. I think they would be happy with this result before the game began. The second half was more balanced, but we didn't score. Simply put, congratulations to Barca."

He went on to comment on the goals Madrid conceded at Camp Nou. Regarding the first one, scored by Marcus Rashford, he did not blame his ex-teammate Thibaut Courtois.
"You can't say Courtois could have done more. It was a great strike from a very tight space. He took a step towards the other post, but you can't blame him for the goal."
Nevertheless, Kroos' impression of Ferran Torres' goal is completely contrasting. In fact, he claimed it showed the key difference between the two Spanish giants.
“The second goal shows you the difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The players involved in that goal, Dani Olmo and Ferran, might not be starters if all the other players were available. Names aren't very important in this case, because they have well-developed game plans and movement patterns from training.”
In the end, the former midfielder pointed out one Madrid player around whom the club's future should be built.
“Arda Guler is a player for the future. He's played a lot this year and will be very important for Madrid. His best position is as a number 10, close to the goal."
"He has a great final pass, which is why he needs to be close to the strikers and wingers. He's not an attacking player, so he loses potential in the center, even though he can create plays from deep,” Kroos concluded.
When such a legend bluntly says the truth, everyone at Santiago Bernabeu should pay close attention, because Toni's words reflect Real Madrid's reality at the moment. It's unacceptable.
