Las Palmas tickle the King and suffer demolition

Real Madrid conceded after 26 seconds and then destroyed the visitors from the Canary Islands - 4-1

People often say, "Don't tickle the lion." Well, in Las Palmas' case, they shouldn't have tickled the King! The visitors netted after 26 seconds over Fabio Silva but were 3-1 down already at the break, thanks to Kylian Mbappe's brace and Brahim Diaz's goal.

Rodrygo's second-half effort was a cherry on top of Madrid's vital triumph, which brought them back to the top of the La Liga table, though their victory could have been even more convincing as VAR deprived them of three goals - 4-1

Fabio Silva's 26th-second opener undoubtedly stunned everyone at Santiago Bernabeu, but instead of disheartening, only angered Real Madrid, as Los Blancos awaited the break with a 3-1 lead. Kylian Mbappe netted a first-half brace - from the spot in the 18th and after Rodryigo's nice assist in the 36th and was deprived of a hat-trick due to VAR and offside. Between his two goals, Brahim Diaz found the net.

When Rodrygo made it 4-1 in the 57th minute following a creative action over the left flank and Fran Garcia's timely pass, it was clear that Madrid would finally sit at the throne of La Liga. Yet, to make matters worse for Las Palmas, their midfielder Benito Ramirez was sent off only seven minutes later.

The home team's festival of goals could have continued in the 74th minute, but Jude Bellignham's effort was disallowed due to Antonio Rudiger's offside. At that point, Carlo Ancelotti's boys played very playfully, some would say even frivolously, while the Italian gave a chance to David Alaba, who returned after a year-long absence.

By the end of the match, Federico Valverde's beauty was disallowed as well, though it won't upset Los Blancos much, as they managed to fulfill their goal and return to the leading position in La Liga.
