Lazio's full-back almost went up in flames in his Ferrari!

Albanian footballer Elseid Hysaj survived a great trauma last Monday in Italy. While driving his father-in-law in his Ferrari, the vehicle caught fire and burned to the ground!

The Lazio defender and his companion barely managed to escape from the burning car, as the doors locked automatically. Fortunately, they managed to avoid a great tragedy.

The 30-year-old football player confirmed that the information is not false in a statement to Il Messaggero on the day of Lazio's match with Salernitana (Friday, 09.45 PM EAT) at the opening of the 32nd round of Serie A.

"The car suddenly caught fire. Fortunately, no one was hurt. We managed to escape from the danger," said Hysaj.

The former football player of Empoli and Napoli is a collector of supercars, and he paid about 160,000 euros for this Ferrari. Given that the car was most likely burnt due to a technical fault, Hysaj sent the vehicle for an expert examination, so that he would be compensated.

The same newspaper states that the Albanian trained normally with the team on Thursday and that he will be ready for the Salernitana clash. This season, Hysaj made 23 appearances for Lazio in all competitions, but he sat on the bench in the last three league games against Frosinone (3-2), Juventus (1-0) and Roma (0-1).
