It's Hulk time in Rio de Janeiro!

After a five-year stint with Atletico Mineiro, the legendary striker was released, and when everyone expected an announcement about his retirement, the soon-to-be 40-year-old stunned them, signing a deal with the iconic Brazilian side Fluminense.

Hulk will stay in Rio until December 2027 and try helping the popular Tricolor break a 14-year run without a title.

Interestingly, his beloved #7 was taken, but his new teammate, Yeferson Soteldo, agreed to switch to #30 and pay his respects to the iconic goal-scoring machine, whose career is among the richest in the Brazilian Serie A.

After his beginnings in the homeland with Vitoria and a three-year experiment in Japan, Hulk made a name for himself at Porto, with which he won the 2010/2011 Europa League.

A four-year stint with Zenit St. Petersburg followed, and once the Chinese Super League began growing and investing heavily in reinforcements, he joined Shanghai Port, where he spent four seasons.

Afterwards, he returned to Brazil, where he left a massive mark at Atletico Mineiro, winning the title in 2021 and playing Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana finals in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

The spell at Arena Gonzalo Plata was at the same time the most productive for Hulk, as he bagged 140 goals in 309 appearances for the popular Rooster.

Now, people expect him to continue his ruthless scoring form with Fluminense. And their hopes are justified. Hulk has proven that age is just a number, so rivals' defences better be prepared.
