Unlike all the other things at Parc des Princes, the ex-sports director's exit has been somewhat awkwardly quite

Leonardo Araujo is already past tense at Parc des Princes. The former Brazilian player and, until recently, PSG's sports director has said goodbye to the French champion through the back door, silently and without making noise after an explosive season and with the renewal of Mbappe as a sign of a new stage in which there's no place for him anymore.

In an interview with the French newspaper L'Equipe, Leonardo explained why he left the club in such a low-profile way...

"We talked about it inside the club. Maybe it's my way of doing things, but it always seems a bit pathetic to me to say "thank you very much, bye-bye..." It wasn't important to make a press release. My relationship with PSG has always been linked to emotions too strong. I'm leaving with zero bitterness! Honestly, zero! Then I have my point of view, of course, but this is not the time for that. Thanks to Qatar and Paris for giving me this opportunity, and I don't stand demagoguery."

Talking about that excruciating Champions League exit, the Brazilian hesitated to speak openly about the responsibility of both players and coach Mauricio Pochettino.

"We hoped to go through, of course, like before against Chelsea or Manchester City... However, nowadays, you have so many things around football, so many things on your mind, that it's not easy stay focused for more than ninety minutes. Today there are much more players, there is a business behind it and a lot at stake. But the reality is that I think we could have done more, "concluded Leonardo, who is replaced by Luis Campos.
