The player joined Leopards from Mt. Kenya United

AFC Leopards winger Boniface Mukhekhe is glad that his patience, hard work and firm loyalty to the club is paying dividends.

Mukhekhe had not been getting regular playing time in the past campaign and in the initial stages of the current one that has stretched to round fifteen thus far.

His fortunes have changed for the better in recent times as the flanker has earned three consecutive starts, getting the nod to play in the defence as a right back.

The former Mt. Kenya United winger has played the last three matches against FC Talanta, Nzoia Sugar and Vihiga Bullets as a right back, starting ahead of the club's assistant captain Peter Thiong'o.

Even though he is being played out of favorite position, Mukhekhe is glad to be getting playing time after months of warming the substitutes bench.

He attributed the game time to the efforts he had been putting behind the scenes and the patience he has employed while waiting for his turn.

"It is satisfying to put on the club's shirt in competitive matches. I had been waiting for it for some time and I am happy to be getting the consideration. I have been working hard for it," he said.

Leopards have been firing from all cylinders in recent matches, performance that has seen the former champions make it to the top five bracket.

Mukhekhe believes that the club has a realistic chance of winning the league title this season should they maintain the good run to the last round.

"We have a chance to win the league gong. No one should write us off for we have the mettle to deliver it. If we sustain the good run then we will hit the target," he added.
