Andre-Pierre Gignac, who used to play alongside Griezmann and Giroud in the France attack for years, will be cheering Argentina on Sunday

Who are you supporting on Sunday, France or Argentina? Whatever the answer is, it's more than legitimate. But when you're a former player of those national sides, it's almost unbelievable you go public and show support for the rivals.

That's precisely what former Les Bleus striker Andre-Pierre Gignac told the media ahead of the clash between his former teammates and the South Americans to decide the world champion.

The 37-year-old forward - spending his veteran days far away from home, playing for a Mexican slot Tigres - wants Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, to beat his native country and become the world champions.

He was capped 36 times and netted seven times for Les Bleus, making his last appearance for the national side back at the EURO 2016.

"In Argentina, they want to win the World Cup because of Messi. I am French, but I would love to see Messi lift the World Cup because he deserves it, for his whole career," he told FOX Sports.
