The Regional League side went down at the KPA Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa on Saturday, but Kwoba said the encounter provided important lessons for his players and technical staff.

“It was a good experience for the boys. The technical bench and players have learnt from the best,” Kwoba said. “We were up against a very experienced and active team, and my players gave their best.”

The match offered Pwani Oil FC a rare opportunity to test themselves against top-flight opposition, exposing the squad to the pace, physicality, and tactical demands of elite-level football.

Kwoba noted that such high-profile fixtures are crucial in accelerating player development, particularly among younger players still adapting to competitive football.

“These are the moments that build teams,” he added. “They show you where you are and what you need to improve. We will take these lessons and come back stronger.”

Team manager Jeremiah Okaalo echoed the coach’s sentiments, praising the players’ resilience despite the heavy loss.

“It was good competition against a Premier League side. The boys played their game and showed character. We live to fight another day,” Okaalo said.

With their cup campaign now over, Pwani Oil FC will now shift focus back to their Regional League fixtures, hoping to convert the experience into improved performances.

Club sponsors Pwani Oil Products Limited reaffirmed their support for the team, noting that the youthful squad remains in a development phase.

“As a company, we are committed to community development through sports,” said Commercial Director Rajul Malde.

Although the team exited early, we are proud of their resilience. Playing top-flight opposition has helped sharpen their skills and raise the overall standard of their game.”
