The French goalkeeper opened the door on a future return to PSG
Star goalkeeper Mike Maignan is back in Paris, where he joined the French national team for the upcoming Euro qualifying game against the Republic of Ireland and the friendly against Germany. It's a chance to return to his roots and revisit some childhood dreams that are still alive.
Maignan was developed in the Parisian academy. Even though the Frenchman chose to carve his own path elsewhere, the club from the French capital is always in his heart. So much so that on a recent visit to his hometown, the 28-year-old left the door slightly open.
After Milan's victory in Rome, as reported by Le Parisien, Maignan visited Villiers-le-Bel, north of the capital, where he began playing between 2003 and 2009 for a local club. The club has seen the likes of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich and Axel Disasi from Chelsea pass through its ranks. It was a return to his roots to support the local team, handing out jerseys and gloves, signing autographs, posing for selfies, and even answering questions from the kids.
During his visit, the goalkeeper discussed the upcoming Champions League match against PSG.
"I've already played against them when I was at Lille, so it's not an unfamiliar feeling for me. It will be a great game at a high tempo, which I like."

When a young fan asked him if he would return to PSG someday, where he was trained from 2009 to 2015 without making his first-team debut, Maignan indicated that playing for the Parc des Princes club was one of his ambitions.
"I'm from Paris, but today I'm under contract with Milan. As for the future, you can never know."
In the meantime, the goalkeeper decided he would be hosting the best students from his hometown at San Siro later this season.
