Should Migori win their next match, they will be promoted to the FKF Premier League for the first time
As the FKF National Super League season heads into its decisive final stretch, few players embody the spirit of persistence and promotion football quite like Michael Isabwa Misigo.
The experienced midfielder has once again become a key figure in another remarkable campaign, this time with Migori Youth FC, who sit at the summit of the National Super League standings with only two matches remaining.
For Isabwa, promotion is not a new territory.

Should Migori Youth secure a historic place in the FKF Premier League, the midfielder will achieve an extraordinary personal milestone: helping four different clubs earn promotion to Kenya’s top flight.
He previously celebrated promotion success with Vihiga United, Vihiga Bullets and Mara Sugar before arriving in Migori midway through the current season.
Despite joining during the second half of the campaign, Isabwa has already made a major impact, contributing four goals and four assists as Migori Youth mounted a serious charge toward the Premier League.
Yet beyond the goals and assists, teammates and fans alike have pointed to his experience, composure and leadership during one of the most intense promotion races in recent NSL history.
“We have a very united dressing room and that is what has pushed us this far.
Everybody in the team fights for each other. The coaches, players and fans all believe in the same dream. That spirit is very important during a promotion race,” he said.
Migori Youth have emerged as one of the strongest sides in the division this season, battling clubs such as Mombasa United, 3K FC and MOFA in a tightly contested title race.
The club’s consistency, particularly at the Green stadium in Awendo, has made them genuine contenders for automatic promotion.
Still, Isabwa insists the team is remaining calm despite edging closer to history.
“In football, you stay humble until the job is done.
We respect every opponent because the league is very competitive. Right now, our focus is only on working hard in training and taking one match at a time,” he offered.
For a player who has already experienced multiple promotion campaigns, the possibility of achieving a fourth promotion still carries special meaning.
“It would mean a lot to me personally.
Every promotion journey is different and every team has its own story. If we achieve it with Migori Youth, it will be one of the proudest moments of my career because this club has shown me great trust since I arrived,” he admitted.
Away from the pitch, Isabwa is also preparing for life after football.
The midfielder recently completed his CAF D coaching course, fully sponsored by Migori Youth FC — a move that reflects both his professionalism and growing leadership qualities within the squad.
He believes coaching education is important for modern footballers, especially experienced players hoping to continue shaping the game after retirement.
“Football has given me a lot and I want to continue giving back even after my playing career.
The coaching course has helped me understand the game differently. I’m grateful to Migori Youth for supporting me through that journey,” he added.
As Migori Youth push toward what could become a historic promotion to the FKF Premier League, Isabwa’s story continues to stand out — not just as a footballer chasing another medal, but as a player building a legacy of leadership, consistency, and success wherever he goes.
And if Migori Youth complete the mission, Isabwa may well cement his place among the most reliable promotion specialists in Kenyan football.
