A solitary first-half strike from Syphas Otieno proved decisive as the league leaders collected all three points to strengthen their grip at the summit, and move within touching distance of top-flight football.
The match burst into life from the onset, with the hosts showing early attacking intent. Kisumu All Stars fashioned the first opportunity when Christopher Otieno reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the area, but the forward failed to hit the target as his effort drifted wide.
Migori Youth responded moments later, and nearly broke the deadlock in the 10th minute.
Mike Isabwa delivered an inviting cross into the box, finding Otieno, whose towering header crashed against the crossbar with the goalkeeper beaten.
The hosts continued to threaten and came close through Mark Ochieng, whose attempt from range sailed wide, before Kennedy Okoth was denied by a brave block from Yusuf Juma after the attacker appeared destined to score.

Their growing influence almost yielded rewards when Isabwa connected with a pass from Otieno, only to see his volley skim narrowly over the bar.
Otieno remained at the heart of Migori's attacking moves and came close again shortly afterwards. The striker latched onto Geoffrey Odira's delivery, but directed his effort inches wide of the target. The breakthrough eventually arrived just after the half-hour mark.
Juma supplied a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Otieno, who expertly beat his marker before curling a low effort beyond goalkeeper Billy Bukhala, to hand the visitors a deserved lead.
Stung by the setback, Kisumu All Stars attempted an immediate response. Opuro Wycliffe raced down the left flank, skipped past his marker and unleashed a volley that flew over the crossbar.
Migori Youth continued to pose the greater threat and nearly doubled their advantage before the break.
Juma pounced on a loose ball at the edge of the area and struck a powerful effort that troubled Bukhala, forcing Stephen Ochieng to clear the danger and keep the deficit at one goal.
The visitors carried their momentum into the second half, and almost doubled their lead within minutes of the restart. A slick exchange involving Churchill Otieno released Otieno through on goal, but the striker's effort lacked conviction and was comfortably gathered by the goalkeeper.
Kisumu All Stars pushed forward in search of an equaliser and came close through Kelvin Ayot, whose shot rolled narrowly wide of the upright. Mark Ochieng then squandered another promising opportunity from close range as the hosts struggled to find a way past the resolute Migori defence.
With the game entering its closing stages, Migori nearly put the contest beyond doubt. Substitute Churchill embarked on a brilliant solo run, weaving his way through a crowd of defenders before seeing his goal-bound effort blocked by Bukhala, who produced a crucial save to keep his side in contention.
Despite mounting pressure from the hosts in the final minutes, Migori Youth remained disciplined and organised at the back, holding firm to secure a priceless victory in one of the season's most fiercely fought derbies.
The result saw Migori Youth open up a five-point lead at the top of the NSL table, following Mombasa United's 1-0 defeat to Luanda Villa at Mumboha Grounds.
With only two matches remaining, Migori now require just one more victory to mathematically secure promotion, and move a step closer to lifting the league title.
Elsewhere across the division, 3K FC edged FC Talanta 3-2 in a thrilling encounter, while Mwatate United's struggles deepened after they handed out a walkover.
MOFA were held to a 1-1 draw by Kibera Black Stars, Naivas FC defeated Vihiga United 2-0, Gucha FC overcame Darajani Gogo 2-1, and Nairobi City Stars registered a 2-1 victory over Kabati Youth.
