Mbappe's incredible tally of 22 goals in 18 games this season overshadowed Guler's impact, as he assisted for almost a third of the Frenchman's successful strikes
Kylian Mbappe is the leading actor in Real Madrid's movie this season. Everything revolves around him, and he seems to enjoy the role Xabi Alonso gave him, as he cannot stop scoring.
The Frenchman has so far found the net 22 times in 18 matches in all competitions, while his extraordinary four-goal performance against Olympiacos two days ago in the Champions League further astonished the football world.
However, in the movie world, apart from the Best Actor award, there's also the one for Supporting Actor - not equally essential, but substantial enough to be acknowledged, recognized, and honoured.
Hence, if Mbappe is the superstar and the superhero, Arda Guler would have to be his co-star and a sidekick.
Out of the ruthless striker's 22 aforementioned goals, the young Turk set up almost the third - seven, to be precise. Mbappe made Guler's passes count against Real Oviedo, Levante, Atletico Madrid, Getafe, and Valencia in the La Liga, as well as against Kairat and Olympiacos in the Champions League.
And most importantly for Real Madrid, they won six out of seven mentioned games, except for the Derbi Madrileno.
Arda Güler has seven assists this season and every single one of them was to Mbappe.

Nevertheless, Mbappe has to be given credit as well, given that every single one of Guler's assists was for Los Blancos' #10, meaning that he understands the 20-year-old playmaker better than any other teammate.
In the end, the club and manager Alonso should be the most satisfied with the tandem's cooperation, as it will undoubtedly bring many benefits, while the two players' bond can only become stronger as time passes.
