Legendary Philipo Pippo Inzaghi and his Benevento players are not allowed to take a flight after they got relegated to Serie B
Italian side Benevento are reportedly punishing their players and coach, the famous Philipo Pipo Inzaghi, for relegation to Serie B. They are allegedly forcing them to travel 12 hours by bus to their final Serie A game against Torino in Turin.
According to Calciomercato, the club's president Oreste Vigorito did not take it well and decided he would not pay for the plane tickets this weekend.
Instead, he's forcing the squad and coach Inzaghi to travel 12 hours by bus from Benevento to Turin, practically the entire length of mainland Italy.
The report also states this was suggested by an ultras group in the Curva Sud, who complained of rumours Benevento would send their youth team to play the ultimate round.
"We do not agree," read their statement. "The team travelled all season in comfortable charter flights. We hope this time they can go in a modest team bus.'
Benevento were promoted from Serie B last summer, but will return to their old 'neighbourhood' after a sole season spent in the top flight.
