The English club, as everyone already knows, has had an excellent relationship with players coming from Portugal
Rafael Leao has become a growing focus for Manchester United, with the club intensifying their monitoring of the AC Milan forward ahead of a potential summer move. United’s recruitment team is increasingly convinced that the Portuguese star could add the attacking spark they are seeking.
According to Calcio Mercato, United representatives were present at San Siro on Sunday night to assess Leao during Milan’s goalless draw with Juventus. The 26-year-old completed 81 minutes but struggled to influence the game, with sections of the home support expressing frustration as he left the pitch without a decisive contribution. Despite the stalemate, Milan remain in third place in Serie A.
🚨 AC Milan would be willing to accept offers of around €50M for Rafael Leão, with Manchester United now among his top suitors ahead of the summer transfer window. 👀🇵🇹

Even after heavy investment in players such as Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko last summer, United are expected to remain active in the transfer market. The club’s strategy now is centred on adding top-tier quality to Michael Carrick’s squad as they push towards Champions League qualification.
Leao, long regarded as one of Serie A’s standout talents, is no longer considered completely untouchable by Milan. Reports suggest that a fee in the region of £52 million could be enough to open negotiations, as the Italian club look to strengthen their financial position before the end of the accounting period.
With two years remaining on his contract, Milan are still in a strong position, but a suitable offer could change their stance. Across Europe, the valuation is widely seen as attractive given his versatility across the front line, capable of operating both on the wing and centrally.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has added further credibility to the speculation, confirming that Premier League clubs are already exploring the situation.
"I can tell you that several Premier League clubs have made calls to understand the situation of Leao... from what I heard, two Premier League clubs are calling to understand the situation," Romano stated. He added: "We are not talking about official proposals. At the moment, we are not talking about official negotiations, but Premier League clubs have started making calls to understand the situation."
🚨 Rafael Leão could be available for €40–50M this summer.

Manchester United want attacking firepower, but can he fit their style?
Elite pace, dribbling, goals… but question marks over work-rate.

While United are active in the race, they are far from alone. Interest is also believed to be coming from FC Barcelona, as well as multiple Saudi Pro League sides. Liverpool FC are also monitoring developments as they prepare for a future beyond Mohamed Salah, setting up what could become one of the defining transfer battles of the summer.
