Okere joined Tusker at the same time with Robert Matano back in 2018.
Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is confident that the exit of his long-serving assistant Charles Okere will not affect the side as the league resumes action this weekend.
Okere was forced to vacate his role at Tusker after landing an appointed as the head coach of Harambee Starlets following the departure of David Ouma.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Matano instead focused on heap praise on Okere and denied that his absence will affect the team.
“He is my young boy I like him, he has been learning from me because he is still young and I brought him from far to Tusker. He has been in the team for around two years but when a situation arises like that I have to give him my blessings,” Matano said,
“I’m happy and I support him to even succeed more. I appreciate that move and recognition I’m sure he has learned a lot and is capable of greater things,” he added.

Okere joined Tusker alongside Matano back in April 2018 and have fostered a formidable partnership on the touchline building a solid team that is this season challenging for the title.
The now Starlets head coach is a Confederation Of African Football (CAF) C License holder and emerged fourth in his class back in 2017.
Tusker have appointed former player George Maina to fill in the shoes left by Okere and is set to return on the touchline on Saturday against KCB.
Upon the appointment of Maina, Matano noted that he settled on Maina due to the previous work experience that they have shared which made it easy to decide on reuniting with him.
“We have worked together for a long time and when the opportunity arose to have him back, I did not hesitate to ask him whether he could come. We continue the work and hopefully, we win more trophies together,” he said.
