Mathare United will have to do without the services of Daniel Okoth in their clash against Gor Mahia.
Mathare United have been dealt a massive blow ahead of their clash against Gor Mahia on Wednesday 16 June as Daniel Otieno is yet to recover from his thigh injury.
Otieno has missed the last two league games against AFC Leopards and Nzoia Sugar after picking up an injury against KCB.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Otieno revealed that he has only started light training but is scheduled for a return in their reverse fixture against KCB next week.
“I have not resumed full training, I got an injury in the clash against KCB, but hopefully by next week I will have returned to full action,”
“I will miss the clash against Gor Mahia but I’m hoping to return in the clash against KCB. I got a thigh injury against them the last time we met,” said Otieno.

Otieno has been the shining light in an otherwise dark season for Mathare as he has contributed five goals upfront, helping the side stay within touching distance of safety.
The former Sony Sugar forward is dejected to be on the treatment table but is positive that they can survive the much-dreaded drop come the end of the season.
“I feel bad that I’m sidelined because I want to play and help the team by scoring more goals but the break has helped me because I’m close to returning. We have to treat every match as a final and pick up wins starting with the clash against Gor Mahia because we are not in a good position,” added Otieno.
The Slum Boys are anchored to the foot of the log after mustering a single win and have massed eight points from 17 games.
