Meja hoping to stick in the starting forward going forward
After making his second league start in the season, Tusker left-back Sammy Meja has come out to express his desire to enjoy the comfort of playing with his younger brother Henry Meja in the starting team going forward.
Meja made a return to the first team when the eleven-time champions battled a title-chasing KCB to a barren draw at the Ruaraka grounds on Saturday.
Prior to the match, the former Thika United defender had been named in the starting eleven when the brewers lost their opener 2-1 to AFC Leopards at the Kasarani Annex.
While the older Meja has seen limited playing time, the budding one has been a mainstay in the Tusker team since making his league debut during their 2-1 win over Gor Mahia in December.

Henry who joined The Brewers last year is also the club's leading top scorer this season having found the back of the net seven times before the league was halted.
The national U20 striker earlier revealed that his elder brother helped him settle at the club and in the league through his counsel and for the first time this season, they were named in the starting team against KCB.
After the match, Meja said he was angling at playing with his younger brother consistently saying it had been his dream since the latter joined the club from Lihrembe Arsenal.

"I have always wanted to play with him in competitive matches. He had my back when he joined the club and still runs to me when he needs advice. It will be a great feeling and a proud moment for our family to play together. I hope to assist him score from my crosses and freekicks," he said.
Meja in the meantime alleged that his hard work convinced coach Robert Matano to draft him back to the team after more than a dozen rounds.
The Harambee Stars trialist had faced a tough time in elbowing out Hillary Wandera who was heavily preferred for starting roles.
"I did not lament when the coach gave others playing time ahead of me. Instead, I worked hard to earn a place in the team and will continue with the same spirit in a bid to keep it. Through hard work, I also believe I will be considered for the national team duties again, " he added.
