West Ham striker decided: He will not make his debut for England, he hopes to celebrate World Cup participation with the sounds of reggae music

Jamaica could suddenly get an incredible boost in their attempt to qualify for the World Cup 2022. West Ham striker, Michail Antonio, might play for the Jamaican national team, if there is no big turnaround. According to the Telegraph, the 30-year-old is set to accept a call up from Jamaica. They play friendlies during next month's international break but the paper says the World Cup qualifiers in September are more likely.

The Reggae Boyz attempted to call Antonio up to their squad in 2016 but he chose to concentrate on getting called up for England. The London-born boy has been waiting for years to receive a call from the English national team. He did not get the opportunity to play for England, although he has been playing well for the Hammers for three years in a row, so he decided to try to make his dreams come true under the flag of his parents' homeland.

Michail Antonio was part of the English selections, but he never made his debut for the A team. Jamaica wants to take advantage of that. The president of the Football Federation of Jamaica addressed the Hammers' striker by e-mail, and the English media report that Antonio accepted the invitation, but also that he will not join the Jamaicans immediately.

More precisely, he will not be part of the national team for the upcoming friendly matches, because he wants to focus on the fight for the first four positions in the Premier League with West Ham, which can lead to the Champions League. But he would be available to the national team coach for the qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Jamaica faces a difficult task, but not an impossible one. And Michail Antonio will certainly be the most resounding name of the Caribbean state, alongside with Ravel Morrison. The "child" of Manchester United and Antonio will be the biggest threat to the opponents.

The Reggae Boyz only participated in the World Cup once. They were part of the planetary competition in 1998, and they finished their performance in the group stage, managing to collect a victory against Japan.
